ABOUT IRONCLAD THOR INDUSTRIES
WHY WE BUILT IT.
Ironclad Thor Industries was founded in Maryland by people who have spent enough time inside the public-safety community to know exactly where it gets let down — and where a small, focused company can do better.
The honest version of the story
Most of what's wrong with the equipment, software, and planning side of public safety isn't because nobody cares. It's because the companies serving it are too big to be agile, too small to be reliable, or too disconnected from the field to know what "good" looks like at 0200 on a SAR call-out. We saw the same patterns over and over:
- A volunteer fire company waiting nine months for a vehicle upfit that should take three weeks, because the regional shop is booked solid.
- An event-management contract written so vaguely that nobody knows who is responsible for the gate-control plan when something goes wrong.
- A dispatch tool that costs as much as a fire engine, sits behind a server-room dependency, and still can't talk to the radio system in the room next to it.
- An auxiliary response team showing up with the right hearts but the wrong paperwork — no MAA, no insurance trail, no documented chain of command.
We didn't build Ironclad Thor to fix all of public safety. We built it to remove four specific frustrations that we kept running into. One company, one standard, three operating divisions — each one targeting a single gap.
What each division exists to do
DIVISION I
Thor Tactical Solutions
Emergency vehicle upfitting, two-way radio sales and programming, and graphics — delivered on a schedule that doesn't insult the customer. Clean installs, documented, built to last. We do not over-promise on lead time.
DIVISION II
ITI Event & EM Consulting
Traffic planning, signage plans, ingress / egress diagrams, and Emergency Action Plans — written to actually be readable on the day, not filed in a binder nobody opens. If something goes sideways and the lawyers show up, the plan is there.
DIVISION III
ITI Emergency Response Team
Auxiliary support — communications, incident command support, Search & Rescue coordination — for qualified agencies under written Mutual Aid Agreements. Not primary response. Activated only by request. Documented every time.
What we built alongside the company
IronCAD is our dispatch and situational-awareness platform. We built it because the alternatives were either too expensive for the agencies that needed them or too tied to a server room to be useful in a tent at a marathon. It's the same tool we run our own ERT operation on. We license it to agencies who want the same capability without the legacy CAD price tag.
How we work
- Maryland-based, Maryland-aligned. Every operational policy, every Mutual Aid Agreement, every recording feature checks against Maryland statute. Counsel-reviewed before anything ships externally.
- Documented. Every job has a paper trail. Every ERT activation has an after-action report. Every plan is a Word document you can edit, not a slide deck you can only stare at.
- Insured. Liability, professional, cyber, auto — coverages appropriate to each service line and reviewed annually.
The standard
Do the work the right way, the first time.
That's it. Everything else is just execution.
